Early childhood education is a term that refers to the period from a child’s birth to when they enter kindergarten. It is an important time in children’s lives because it is when they first learn how to interact with others, including peers, teachers and parents, and begin to develop interests that will stay with them throughout their lives.

Studies show that children who receive early childhood education have a higher likelihood of graduating high school, attending college, and receiving a post-secondary degree, license, or certification.

At East Orange Child Development Corporation (EOCDC), our mission is to provide safe, quality, comprehensive early childhood education for East Orange children ages 0-8. At EOCDC we also understand that early childhood care and education doesn’t just begin and end with preparation for primary school and beyond. It also aids in the development of a child’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs in order to build a solid foundation for lifelong learning, and wellbeing. Therefore, we believe it is vital for parents to be involved in their child’s education.

At EOCDC we offer a wide variety of programs, not only for children but, for their families. Our programs provide education as well as resources for parents surrounding health, oral health, mental health, disabilities, nutrition, social services, family engagement, support, family advocacy, and parent leadership. Together, we can ensure that families and their children are on the path to success.
