Our home-based services allow children and parents in East Orange to receive many Early Head Start Services right in their own home for free. A home visitor provides child-focused visits weekly that promote the parents' ability to support their child's development. Together, the home visitors and parents create ways to help the child develop through parent-child interactions and daily routines. In addition to weekly home visits, families will take part in group socializations and activities.

Home visitors work with families to plan activities, interactions, and learning experiences with support to allow all children to participate and learn.

Through home visits, families will experience:

• Nurturing, responsive, and effective interactions and engaging environments
• Implementation of research-based curriculum and teaching practices
• Ongoing progress screenings and child assessments
• Highly individualized teaching and learning

The goal of our home-based services is to help East Orange families with young children support their child at a crucial time when they are developing new skills across all developmental areas, experiencing a variety of new environments, and expanding their social interactions. Home visitors help parents navigate these new experiences, advocate for their child, and help their child prepare for current and future experiences.

Home-Based Services take place once a week for approximately an hour and a half.
