Pregnant Moms Program

Our Pregnant Moms Program provides support and resources to expecting mothers residing in East Orange. As a part of the Early Head Start Program, it is a federally funded program free for eligible families. We aim to help pregnant women prepare for motherhood, assisting them in obtaining proper prenatal care to ensure their unborn child’s healthy growth and development. EOCDC’s Pregnant Moms Program gives expecting mothers education on how to have a healthy pregnancy, supports them through postpartum care, and provides nurturing care and learning experiences to their infants.

Our program includes:

  • One-on-one sessions with a nurse
  • Nutrition consultation
  • Prenatal education
  • Lactation consultation
  • Socializations
  • Newborn home visits
  • Health and social referrals

A healthy pregnancy has a crucial and lasting impact on the child’s future health and development. A healthy pregnancy begins with learning about essential topics such as fetal development, the effects of alcohol and smoking on the fetus, labor and delivery, benefits of breastfeeding, postpartum depression, and infant care. An expecting mother’s health is vital to a successful pregnancy and healthy child. At East Orange Child Development Corporation, we provide pregnant women with health services covering their mental, physical, and nutritional needs.
